In this home, regular maintenance was not handled properly. The picture is just an example of the filth in this room. Every surface in every room was caked in dirt and dust. Insects moved in and started calling the place home. Unfortunately, this means possible contamination as the insects can carry germs as they move. This is a problem because this can have adverse health, social, and even structural effects on the homeowners. Realizing this, SERVPRO of West Miami was called in to clean up. The problem was solved by removing dirt and dust in particular areas first. The insects were slaughtered and sacked to stop further contamination. The surfaces were cleaned and disinfected using industry methods and products to ensure it’s no longer contaminated. This is a great example of why a little maintenance can go a long way.
